Shakespeare: The Complete Deaths

Abstract

Il seguente elaborato prende in analisi il comico involontario che scaturisce dall'eccessiva irrealtà delle tragedie di Seneca, la rielaborazione di questo modello da parte di Shakespeare e lo spettacolo The Complete Deaths. Questo spettacolo è presentato in anteprima al Brighton Festival per il quadricentenario della morte di Shakespeare, vede la collaborazione del regista teatrale Tim Crouch e il gruppo comico Spymonkey, e ha come "personaggio principale" la morte presente all'interno delle opere di Shakespeare.

The following paper examines the unintentional comedy that arises from the excessive unreality of Seneca's tragedies, Shakespeare's reworking of this model, and the play The Complete Deaths. This play premiered at the Brighton Festival for the quadricentenary of Shakespeare's death, features the collaboration of theatre director Tim Crouch and the comedy group Spymonkey, and has as its 'main character' the death present within Shakespeare's plays.
