In particolare,
inferiore a quello necessario. Infatti, persone diverse e contesti diversi richiedono livelli di
attivazione differenti.
grandi cambiamenti This thesis paper aims to examine anxiety in sports. In particular,
through the analysis of the scientific literature, we intend to define this phenomenon e
identify the reasons and characteristics that influence athletes. Sports as well
be influenced by the physical condition of the athlete and by the technical aspects of the gesture
motor, is conditioned by the psychological state. Past experiences and the emotions that
athletes experience before and during performance can alter the approach to
competition. Among the main emotions that affect athletes' performance, yes
experience anxiety. This topic has gained increasing importance in the literature
science, as evidenced by the increase in publications over the last twenty years.
The analysis of anxiety in sport is not limited to its observation, but also includes the
assessment of activation levels. Indeed, a good performance is not only affected
negatively by anxiety, but can also be influenced by an arousal level
lower than necessary. Indeed, different people and different contexts require levels of
different activation. There are several techniques aimed at managing the activation state and, in the
in the event that anxiety occurs, to bring the athlete back to an adequate level for performance.
Despite the complexity of this topic, the phenomenon of anxiety can be
controlled to improve sports performance and the experience lived by the athlete, such as
demonstrates this experimental research based on the Jacobson Relaxation that sees al
center two women's volleyball teams. Both entered in the same championship
show a different trend in anxiety management during the final phase of
championship. In fact one of the two, the experimental group, manages to improve in the levels of
anxiety thanks to the proposed Mental Training, while in the control group they are not found
big changes
