The main task of the thesis is the development and the implementation of a Matlab’ s model in order capture bearing stiffness, particularly nearby the critical speeds of the rotor.
In order to analyze and understand all issues related to critical speeds and stiffness it was necessary to carry out a number of experimental tests using an experimental bench rig located at the MEC laboratory of the University of Genoa.
The fnal part of th work, carried out in the Ansys software environment, was focused the assessment of the consistence of the results previously obtained.
The next step is the application of this case of study into an industrial application off a high speed microturbine rotor.
