Violoncello e soglie drammaturgiche nelle opere di Giacomo Puccini

Abstract

La presente tesi vuole impostare un percorso attraverso le opere di Giacomo Puccini che prediliga due argomenti principali, tra loro spesso intrecciati: il punto di vista violoncellistico ed il concetto di “soglia drammaturgica”. Da un lato si concentra quindi sul trattamento che il compositore ha riservato ad uno strumento dalle molteplici risorse espressive, quale il violoncello; dall’altro prova a mettere a fuoco gli apici drammaturgici di tensione e trasformazione, nonché le convergenze di elementi ambigui, sia nei personaggi sia nello svolgimento dei fatti scenici.

This thesis aims to set out a path through the operas of Giacomo Puccini which favors two main topics, often intertwined with each other: the cello point of view and the concept of "dramaturgical threshold". On the one hand it therefore focuses on the treatment that the composer reserved for an instrument with multiple expressive resources, such as the cello; on the other, it tries to focus on the dramaturgical peaks of tension and transformation, as well as the convergences of ambiguous elements, both in the characters and in the development of the stage events.
