Fino a Dora. Un progetto di riqualificazione paesaggistica per l'Area ex-Montefibre, Ivrea.

Abstract

Ivrea è una città piemontese situata nel Canavese, nel cuore del territorio dell’Anfiteatro Morenico di Ivrea. La sua celebrità è sicuramente dovuta allo storico Carnevale con la battaglia delle arance ed a un passato industriale dettato dalle idee futuristiche e visionarie di Adriano Olivetti. Il sito di progetto si trova alla confluenza tra il centro storico a nord, via Jervis con il suo patrimonio olivettiano si inserisce perpendicolarmente ad ovest e i quartieri residenziali e commerciali lungo tutto il lato ovest. Fino a Dora è un progetto di riqualificazione paesaggistica nella città di Ivrea, volto a creare una connessione tra l’edificato eporediese e il fiume Dora Baltea, attraverso la riqualificazione dell’area ex-Montefibre e le connessioni in ambito rurale. Fino a Dora in termini spaziali indica l’ambito di progetto, il quale dalla città consolidata investe le aree limitrofe giungendo fino al fiume Dora. In termini temporali l’area fino ad ora è stata un susseguirsi di trasformazioni e cambi di destinazioni d’uso, con questo progetto l’area potrebbe trovare una sua dimensione naturale definitiva all’interno delle dinamiche della fruizione degli spazi in ambito urbano. L’Area ex-Montefibre rispetto ai tessuti urbani eporediesi ha da sempre subito mutamenti, è collocata a ridosso del centro città a nord e della zona urbanizzata a sud, ma a margine della vita eporediese. La riconnessione investe l’Area ex-Montefibre nella sua parte centrale, riqualificando lo spazio attualmente non gestito, creando un collegamento tra città e Dora. La connessione coinvolge inoltre la zona agricola a sud della sopracitata area, salvaguardando l’aspetto rurale, creando connessioni ecologiche e nuovi percorsi percorsi per la mobilità lenta, mitigando la presenza delle barriere infrastrutturali. Altro tema di fondamentale importanza è il rapporto con il fiume lungo la sua sponda.

The project site is located at the confluence between the historic center to the north, where Via Jervis with its Olivetti heritage intersects perpendicularly to the west, and the residential and commercial districts along the entire western side. "Fino a Dora" is a landscape redevelopment project, aimed at creating a connection between the built-up area of Ivrea and the Dora Baltea river, through the redevelopment of the former Montefibre area and rural connections. In spatial terms, "Fino a Dora" indicates the project scope, which extends from the consolidated city into the surrounding areas, reaching up to the Dora river. In temporal terms, the area has undergone a series of transformations and changes in land use. With this project, the area could find its definitive natural dimension within the dynamics of urban space utilization. The former Montefibre Area has always undergone changes compared to the urban fabric of Ivrea. Initially it was a rural area, then industrial area, and now it is a commercial area in continuous conversion, located close to the city center to the north and the urbanized area to the south, yet at the margins of Ivrea's life. The reconnection primarily focuses on the central part of the former Montefibre Area, redeveloping the space and creating a link between the city and the Dora river. The project also involves connecting the urbanized area and the river through the agricultural zone, preserving the rural aspect, creating ecological connections and new paths for slow mobility, while mitigating the presence of infrastructural barriers. Finally, another theme of fundamental importance is the relationship with the river along its bank.
