Joseph Ratzinger. Filosofia cristiana e visioni escatologiche

Abstract

Scopo di questo lavoro intende essere la discussione degli elementi rilevanti ad uno sguardo filosofico, delle riflessioni sull’escatologia di Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger (1927-2022), teologo cattolico tra i più rilevanti del XX secolo, eletto 265° papa della Chiesa cattolica nel 2005 con il nome di Benedetto XVI: Il lettore potrebbe chiedersi il perché di un approccio filosofico ad un tema tipicamente dogmatico, analizzato peraltro in riferimento alle riflessioni di un Autore diventato niente meno che Romano Pontefice; ebbene l’intento che questo elaborato si propone di perseguire è proprio la dimostrazione di come, nell’escatologia di Ratzinger, si intreccino determinati temi, anche di ampio respiro, che possano essere fonte di estremo interesse agli occhi di uno studente di filosofia quale è chi scrive. In particolare cercheremo di porre l’attenzione su quei problemi attinenti alla questione escatologica che vengono affrontati da Ratzinger mediante un approccio che tiene conto della semplice ragione prima ancora che della Verità rivelata.

The purpose of this work aims to discuss the relevant elements from a philosophical perspective, reflecting on the eschatology of Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger (1927-2022), one of the most prominent Catholic theologians of the 20th century, who was elected as the 265th pope of the Catholic Church in 2005, taking the name of Benedict XVI. The reader might wonder why there is a philosophical approach to a typically dogmatic theme, especially when analyzed in reference to the reflections of an author who became nothing less than the Roman Pontiff. However, the intention that this paper aims to pursue is precisely to demonstrate how, in Ratzinger's eschatology, certain themes, even of broad scope, intertwine, which can be of extreme interest to the eyes of a philosophy student, as the author is. In particular, we will seek to focus on those problems pertaining to the eschatological question addressed by Ratzinger through an approach that takes into account simple reason before even the revealed Truth.
