Abstract

La questione dell'immigrazione non solo ha attirato l'attenzione del mondo, è anche singolarmente la questione più discussa nei dibattiti politici e nei forum sociali. Comprendere gli aspetti dell'immigrazione non solo aiuta a correggere alcuni fraintendimenti, ma fa luce sulla crudele realtà che circonda questo argomento.

Questa tesi esplora le differenze tra l'immigrazione legale e legittima, le norme legislative in Italia e in altri paesi europei che regolano l'immigrazione, confrontandole con quelle di paesi come gli Stati Uniti e il Canada.

Un tempo importante è stato dedicato al capitolo finale che ha esplorato la rappresentazione mediatica dell'immigrazione e come questo influisca sull'opinione pubblica. Attraverso ricerche approfondite in questo settore, sono riuscita a raccogliere dati sufficienti e ad analizzare il linguaggio e la terminologia utilizzati dalle agenzie di stampa affidabili mentre scrivono sull'immigrazione.

The issue of immigration is not only one that has attracted the attention of the world, it is also alone the most discussed issue in political debates and social forums. Understanding the facets of immigration not only helps correct some misperception, but also sheds light on the cruel reality surrounding the subject.

This thesis explores the differences between legal and legitimate immigration, legislative norms in Italy and other major European countries that regulate immigration, comparing them with those of countries such as the United States and Canada.

An important time was devoted to the final chapter that explored the media representation of immigration and how this affects public opinion. Through extensive research in this area, I was able to collect sufficient data and analyse the language and terminology used by reputable news agencies while writing about immigration.
