Il busto ritratto a Genova in età barocca: un repertorio per Filippo Parodi, Giacomo Antonio Ponzanelli e Domenico Parodi.

Abstract

Attraverso il presente elaborato si vuole fornire un repertorio aggiornato dei busti-ritratto di Filippo Parodi, Giacomo Antonio Ponzanelli e Domenico Parodi, che furono protagonisti della “rivoluzione” barocca a Genova nel campo della scultura, cercando di approfondire quali furono i modelli da loro osservati, dentro e fuori le mura di Genova. Si è cercato quindi di fornire un quadro chiaro e sintetico delle biografie degli artisti e una panoramica sui busti-ritratto conservati. Questi ultimi sono stati descritti dettagliatamente nell’ultima sezione della tesi, costituita dalle schede delle opere, in cui, partendo dalla lettura delle fonti scritte, - in particolare i testi di Ratti e Alizeri -, si è cercato di restituire le informazioni disponibili in merito ai singoli busti-ritratto, mettendone in evidenza i modelli di riferimento, tra i quali spicca la ritrattistica di Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

Through this paper we want to provide an updated repertoire of the portrait busts of Filippo Parodi, Giacomo Antonio Ponzanelli and Domenico Parodi, who were protagonists of the Baroque "revolution" in Genoa in the field of sculpture, trying to deepen which models they observed , inside and outside the walls of Genoa. an attempt has therefore been made to provide a clear and concise picture of the biographies of the artists and an overview of the preserved portrait busts. The latter have been described in detail in the last section of the thesis, made up of the descriptions of the works, in which, starting from the reading of the written sources - in particular the texts by Ratti and Alizeri - an attempt was made to return the information available on the matter to the individual portrait busts, highlighting the reference models, among which the portraiture of Gian Lorenzo Bernini stands out.
