La posizione di Joe BidenRussia:una prospettiva linguistica

Abstract

L’oggetto di questa ricerca è il discorso di Joe Biden pronunciato a Varsavia e l’analisi del discorso al fine di identificare il modo in cui Biden pronuncia il suo discorso e come riesce ad influenzare il suo pubblico. L’obiettivo è quello di identificare quali prove retoriche (logos, ethos, pathos) vengono utilizzare da Biden e come avviene la consegna del discorso per creare un discorso efficace. Durante il suo intervento, Biden fa uso di diversi espedienti retorici che lo aiutano a rendere il discorso più coinvolgente e a mettere in evidenza il tema dell’unità. Analizzando il video del discorso di Biden è possibile notare che il Presidente americano ha un corretto linguagio del corpo, stando in piedi con fermezza e usando il movimento della mano in modo appropriato. Per quanto riguarda il tono della voce, Biden produce un tono di voce adeguato e questo significa che pronuncia il suo discorso con un ritmo, un tono e un volume efficaci. Quanto al messaggio, Joe Biden ha aperto il suo discorso a Varsavia con un messaggio forte, citando le famose parole di Papa Giovanni Paolo II: “Non abbiate paura”. L’essenza dell’intero discorso è stata la democrazia e Biden ha sostenuto che dobbiamo affrontare una lunga battaglia, contro un nemico comune: l’autocrazia. Biden conclude il suo discorso con una forte osservazione ed esprime esplicita sfiducia nel comportamento di Putin e vuole rafforzare l’immagine negativa del suo avversario politico. Considerando tutte queste componenti insieme possiamo dire che il discorso di Biden suona del tutto naturale, spontaneo e molto potente e diretto.

The subject of this research is Joe Biden's speech delivered in Warsaw and the speech analysis in order to identify the way he delivers the speech and how consequently influences the audience. The aim is to identify what rhetorical proofs (logs, ethos, pathos) are used by the speaker, and how the speech delivery is used to create an effective speech. During his speech, Biden makes use of different rhetorical devices that help him to make the speech more enagaging and to highlight the theme of unity. Analyzing Biden’s video speech it’s possible to notice that Biden has a proper body language, standing steadily and using hand movement appropriately. The American President during the speech keeps a relaxed and upright posture. He stands behind the lactern with his hands open and keeps an intense eyecontact with the audience. Biden produces proper tone of voice and this means that he delivers his speech with an effective pace, pitch and volume. As for the message, Joe Biden opened his speech in Warsaw with a strong message by quoting the famous words of Pope John Paul II: “Be not afraid”. The essence of the entire speech was democracy and Biden sustained that we have to face a long fight ahaid, against a common enemy: autocracy. Biden ends his speech with a strong remark and expresses explicit distrust in Putin’s behaviour and wants to reinforce the negative image of his political opponent. Considering all these components together it’s possible to say that Biden’s speech sounds very natural, spontaneous and very powerful and direct.
