Chiara d’Assisi ed il francescanesimo femminile: l’esperienza di San Damiano.

Abstract

La tesi narra le vicende della Comunità religiosa di San Damiano nata per iniziativa di Chiara Scifi nel 1216. Un gruppo di donne che decidono di aderire al progetto di vita francescano. Un luogo ove esse vivono amando Dio e aiutandosi le une con le altre come sorelle, curando gli infermi e confortando i miserabili. Le sorelle di Chiara dimostrano che è possibile realizzare un modello di vita ispirato a quello insegnato da Gesù Cristo, e farlo all’interno della Chiesa di Roma. Un esempio di comunità religiosa organizzata senza una rigida gerarchia di stampo autoritario. Una dimostrazione concreta di vita cristiana, di pace e di cura per il prossimo, un modello che ogni credente è chiamato a seguire. Chiara è la prima donna a scrivere una regola di vita religiosa approvata dal papa. Una persona determinata capace di resistere alle pressioni esercitate su di lei da papi e cardinali. La tesi analizza nel dettaglio le varie normative emanate dalla Santa Sede per disciplinare la vita delle religiose di San Damiano. Particolare riguardo viene prestato al tema della clausura e alla sua compatibilità con lo stile di vita francescano.

The thesis tells the story of the religious community of San Damiano born on the initiative of Chiara Scifi in 1216. A group of women who decided to adhere to the Franciscan project of life. A place where they lived loving God and helping each other as sisters, caring for the sick and comforting the wretched. Clare's sisters demonstrate that it is possible to implement a model of life inspired by that taught by Jesus Christ and to do so within the Church of Rome. An example of an organized religious community without a rigid authoritarian hierarchy. A concrete demonstration of Christian life, peace and care for others, a model that every believer is called to follow. Clare is the first woman to write a rule of religious life approved by the pope. A determined person capable of resisting the pressure exerted on her by popes and cardinals. The thesis analyzes in detail the various regulations issued by the pope to govern the life of the religious of San Damiano. Particular attention is given to the theme of the cloister and its compatibility with the Franciscan way of life.
