IMPIEGO DELLA RISORSA LEGNO IN EDILIZIA. DALLA GESTIONE FORESTALE AL CAMBIAMENTO CLIMATICO

Abstract

In questa tesi di laurea “L'uso dei materiali legnosi. Dalla gestione forestale al cambiamento cli-matico” analizzo le problematiche legate all'uso del legno e tutte le possibili soluzioni che po-tremmo adottare. Il mio lavoro si occupa di una gestione forestale sostenibile e di come specifici piani d'azione pos-sono affrontare le conseguenze del cambiamento climatico. Attraverso l'utilizzo e il perfezionamento delle “SNAC” (Strategie Nazionali di Adattamento ai Cambiamenti Climatici), i governi internazionali stanno cercando di far fronte a emergenze am-bientali come l'inquinamento, lo spreco di risorse naturali, la distruzione degli habitat naturali. L'utilizzo del legno può rappresentare una risorsa molto importante nel campo della sostenibili-tà economica e ambientale grazie alla sua estrema versatilità. Questo lavoro si compone di cinque sezioni e un capitolo finale. - Il primo si concentra sugli obiettivi principali della SNAC e sul suo collegamento con il Protocollo di Kyoto e l'Accordo di Parigi; - Il secondo capitolo tratta della vulnerabilità delle foreste, soprattutto in Italia, a causa del cambiamento climatico; - La terza sezione riguarda la gestione forestale in Europa e in Italia e le eventuali proposte di ri-soluzione del Parlamento europeo. - Il quarto capitolo descrive le industrie del legno, le sue problematiche ei costi di esercizio. A conclusione di questo lavoro, darò alcuni esempi di tutti i possibili utilizzi del legno in edilizia, dove ormai viene adottato proprio per far fronte a specifiche emergenze causate dai cambia-menti climatici.

In this degree thesis “The use of wood materials. From forest management to climate change” I analyse the problems connected to the use of wood and all the possible solutions we could adopt. My work deals with a sustainable forest management and how specific action plans can face the consequences of climate change. Through the use and refinement of “SNAC” (National Climate Change Adaptation Strategies), international governments are trying to face environmental emergencies such as pollution, the waste of natural resources, destruction of natural habitats. The use of wood can represent a very important resource in the field of economic and environmental sustainability thanks to its extreme versatility. This work consists of five sections and a final chapter. - The first one focuses on the main aims of the SNAC and its connection with Kyoto Protocol and Paris Accord; - The second chapter deals with the vulnerability of forest, especially in Italy, because of the climate change; - The third section concerns with forest management in Europe and Italy and the possible motions of resolutions of European Parliament. - The fourth chapter describes wood industries, its problems and operating costs. As a conclusion of this work, I will give some examples of all the possible uses of wood in building sector, where now is adopted just to face specific emergencies caused by climate changes.
