Dagli "Indifferenti" alla "Noia": per una prima indagine sulle postille sanguinetiane alle opere di Alberto Moravia

Abstract

Sulla base del censimento delle postille sanguinetiane rinvenute nelle pagine di dodici opere di Alberto Moravia, depositate nella Biblioteca Universitaria di Genova (in cui sono oggi contenuti i libri appartenuti a Edoardo Sanguineti) e coincidenti quasi interamente con quella zona della produzione narrativa dello scrittore romano analizzata dal poeta nel corso del suo saggio del 1962, il presente lavoro intende indagare tanto le principali caratteristiche delle sottolineature, dei segni e delle annotazioni che contraddistinguono questi testi, al fine di andare a mostrare le modalità con cui Sanguineti nel corso delle sue letture è intervenuto su tali opere, quanto le relazioni che intercorrono tra queste tracce del suo studio privato e il materiale edito. Nel corso di questa seconda linea di studio, scegliendo come referente privilegiato il saggio sopra menzionato, si è tentato di dare conto della coincidenza forte tra la trattazione condotta da Sanguineti all’interno di quest’ultimo e una buona parte delle postille presenti in alcune delle opere oggetto del lavoro, cercando di dimostrare come i principali nuclei tematici poi sviluppati e approfonditi nelle penetranti pagine della monografia siano già tutti presenti nei fogli dei libri posseduti e in vario modo segnati dal poeta. La tesi risulta, dunque, strutturata in tre capitoli, di cui i primi due rappresentano la concretizzazione dei due distinti obiettivi di ricerca appena delineati e il terzo li ripropone entrambi adattandoli all’analisi di sole due opere, caratterizzate da una postillatura particolarmente ricca e per alcuni aspetti atipica rispetto a quella indagata precedentemente. Infine, a chiusura del lavoro è posto, in stretta relazione con le sezioni che lo precedono, un fitto appendice in cui sono contenute le schede frutto della catalogazione dei vari volumi.

Based on the inventory of the Sanguinetian annotations found in the twelve works of Alberto Moravia, which are filed in the University Library of Genoa (where the books that belonged to Edoardo Sanguineti are stored) and that match almost entirely with that part of narrative production of the Roman writer analysed by the poet in his 1962 essay, the present work aims at investigating both the main features of the underlining, the signs and the notations that characterise these texts, in order to show the way in which Sanguineti has intervened on these works while reading them, as well as the relations between the traces of his private work and the published material. With this second line of study, choosing as referent the abovementioned essay, we considered the strong connection between the discussion made by Sanguineti in his published work and a large part of the annotations found in some of the texts that are the object of our work, and we tried to show how the main thematic nucleuses developed and explored in the pages of the monography are all already mentioned in the pages of the books noted by the poet. The thesis is then structured in three chapters, where the first two represent the realization of the two distinctive research objectives previously mentioned, and the third reproposes both objectives taking into account the analysis of only two works, characterized by a particularly rich and, for some aspects, atypical notation, with respect to the one found in other works. Lastly, this work is accompanied by a rich appendix, in strict relation with the sections that precede it, where the worksheets that are the result of the cataloguing of the different works can be found.
