In the second half of the third millennium BC the use of a particular type of ceramic spread throughout Europe, along with specific artefacts and practices: this archaoelogica record is generally known as “Bell Beaker culture”. In this paper, the characteristics of this phenomenon are outlined, both at an European level and in reference to the central-northern Italy. The Ligurian evidence is then exposed in detail, with particular attention to the Pianaccia di Suvero site (SP). Bell-beaker fragments and the most significant associated pottery shards, coming from 2010 field-season at this latter site, have been analysed. These ones, iconographically presented in the tables placed in the appendix of the thesis, are then displayed and discussed. A synthesis of the Beaker phenomenon in Liguria is at last discussed, setting it within the European framework.
