Interpretazione retorica di dodici edifici a Tbilisi.

Abstract

Questa tesi esplora la città di Tbilisi attraverso la rappresentazione retorica di dodici progetti architettonici contemporanei. Piuttosto che considerare l’architettura come un insieme di oggetti isolati o di significati fissi, la ricerca propone un quadro interpretativo in cui gli edifici sono intesi come parte di un più ampio sistema di relazioni, trasformazioni e narrazioni spaziali. Il lavoro si fonda su una lettura particolare e personale della città, in cui l’architettura diventa un mezzo attraverso il quale può essere rivelata la complessità urbana. Superando un’analisi puramente oggettiva, la tesi costruisce un modo di osservare che enfatizza l’interpretazione come strumento di comprensione. Ogni edificio viene esaminato non solo per ciò che è, ma per ciò che esprime all’interno della condizione evolutiva di Tbilisi. Attraverso questo approccio, la ricerca sviluppa un metodo coerente di rappresentazione che permette di leggere i progetti selezionati in modo collettivo. L’obiettivo non è definire una verità unica sulla città, ma articolare una possibile narrazione tra le molte. Così facendo, la tesi propone l’architettura come un partecipante attivo nella formazione della percezione e dell’interpretazione dell’ambiente urbano.

This thesis explores the city of Tbilisi through the rhetorical representation of twelve contemporary architectural projects. Rather than approaching architecture as a collection of isolated objects or fixed meanings, the research proposes an interpretative framework in which buildings are understood as part of a broader system of relationships, transformations, and spatial narratives. The work is grounded in a particular and personal reading of the city, where architecture becomes a medium through which urban complexity can be revealed. Moving beyond purely objective analysis, the thesis constructs a way of seeing that emphasizes interpretation as a tool for understanding. Each building is examined not only for what it is, but for what it expresses within the evolving condition of Tbilisi. Through this approach, the research develops a consistent method of representation that allows the selected projects to be read collectively. The aim is not to define a single truth about the city, but to articulate one possible narrative among many. In doing so, the thesis proposes architecture as an active participant in shaping the perception and interpretation of the urban environment.
