Relazioni tra rappresentazioni dell'attaccamento del terapeuta e alleanza di lavoro con il paziente.

Abstract

Questo lavoro affronta le relazioni tra le rappresentazioni dell’attaccamento del terapeuta e l’alleanza di lavoro con il paziente e rientra in un più ampio progetto dell’Università di Genova, DISFOR, che approfondisce il ruolo di detto attaccamento sugli esiti del trattamento di bambini ed adulti, ed è articolato in tre capitoli. Il primo introduce la figura del terapeuta, affrontando, in un primo paragrafo, l’evoluzione della stessa, da “ specchio” vuoto all’assunzione di un ruolo fondamentale all’interno della relazione con il paziente, tale da diventare alleanza terapeutica. Un ulteriore paragrafo distinto in due sottoparagrafi, ha invece per oggetto le caratteristiche più significative del professionista, in grado di incidere sui vari esiti della terapia, mentre alla trattazione del tema dell’attaccamento di quest’ultimo, è dedicato un terzo sottoparagrafo. Il secondo capitolo è dedicato al costrutto centrale del lavoro, l’alleanza terapeutica, della quale, in un primo paragrafo, si è tentato di dare una definizione, mentre ulteriori due paragrafi sono stati dedicati alle variabili in grado di influire sulla stessa, con particolare riguardo a quelle “relazionali”. La Revisione Sistematica occupa invece il terzo capitolo, preceduta da un paragrafo descrittivo della metodologia seguita nel selezionare ed analizzare i contributi di ricerca (22) ritenuti di interesse specifico per il tema prescelto. Chiudono il lavoro la discussione dei risultati, oggetto di un ultimo paragrafo, che tiene conto anche dei limiti evidenziati nel materiale rilevante e brevi conclusioni critiche in cui si auspica, in particolare, che la materia trattata sia oggetto di ulteriori, approfonditi studi e ricerche, necessitando di essere affrontata in modo sempre più sistematico e organico.

This work addresses the topic of the relationship between therapists’ attachment representations and the working alliance with the patient, and it’s a part of a broader project carried out at the University of Genoa, DISFOR, aimed at exploring the issues related to the impact of attachment on treatment outcomes for both children and adults. It is structured into three chapters, introduced by a brief preface. The first chapter introduces the figure of the therapist. The initial section discusses the evolution of this role: from an empty “mirror” to a central figure in the therapeutic relationship, ultimately becoming the therapeutic alliance. A subsequent section, divided into two subsections, focuses on the most significant characteristics of the professional, capable of influencing therapy outcomes. A third subsection is devoted to the therapist’s attachment style. The second chapter is entirely dedicated to the central construct of the study: the therapeutic alliance. The first section attempts to define the concept. Two additional sections explore the variables that may influence the alliance, with particular attention to “relational” factors. The Systematic Review is the object of the third chapter, preceded by a section describing the methodology used to select and analyze the research contributions (a total of 22) deemed specifically relevant to the chosen topic. The work’s conclusion opens with a discussion of the findings, presented in a final section that also considers the limitations identified in the reviewed material. Brief critical conclusions follow, expressing the hope that the subject matter will be the focus of further, in-depth studies and research, as it requires increasingly systematic and integrated exploration.
