Educare nell'appennino delle quattro province: voci, passi e suoni da un'isola tra i monti.

Abstract

Questa ricerca esplora il territorio delle Quattro Province, un'area situata tra Liguria, Piemonte, Lombardia ed Emilia-Romagna, focalizzandosi sul concetto di "aree marginali" e sul ruolo della scuola come presidio culturale in tali contesti. In particolare, l’analisi si concentra sul legame tra territorio, cultura locale e il potenziale educativo delle scuole, suggerendo che le scuole di montagna possano rappresentare un’opportunità per sperimentare approcci educativi innovativi, centrati sul benessere e sulla crescita dei bambini.

Il lavoro parte dalla riflessione sul fenomeno dello spopolamento di queste aree e sulle sfide che ne derivano, per poi approfondire la relazione tra scuola e cultura, utilizzando come esempio il patrimonio musicale delle Quattro Province che funge da elemento unificante del territorio. Sono state realizzate due progettazioni didattiche, rispettivamente a Genova e a Torriglia, per esplorare la cultura locale attraverso attività didattiche legate alla musica e alla geografia, coinvolgendo esperti locali.

Il lavoro si conclude con una riflessione sulle teorie educative di alcuni pedagogisti, tra cui Don Milani, Mario Lodi e Maria Montessori, evidenziando come i loro principi possano essere applicati nelle scuole di montagna per creare un ambiente educativo più inclusivo e attento alle specificità del territorio.

This research explores the territory of the Four Provinces, an area located between Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, focusing on the concept of ‘marginal areas’ and on the role of schools as cultural garrisons in such contexts. In particular, the analysis focuses on the link between territory, local culture and the educational potential of schools, suggesting that mountain schools can represent an opportunity to experiment innovative educational approaches, centred on the well-being and growth of children.

The work starts by reflecting on the phenomenon of depopulation in these areas and the challenges it poses, and then delves into the relationship between school and culture, using as an example the musical heritage of the Four Provinces, which acts as a unifying element of the territory. Two educational projects were carried out, in Genoa and Torriglia respectively, to explore local culture through educational activities related to music and geography, involving local experts.

The work concludes with a reflection on the educational theories of a number of pedagogues, including Don Milani, Mario Lodi and Maria Montessori, highlighting how their principles can be applied in mountain schools to create an educational environment that is more inclusive and attentive to the specificities of the territory.
