Il lessico marino: confronto tra Odissea ed Eiríks saga rauða

Abstract

In questa tesi mostrerò i punti di contatto (tenendo sempre conto delle grandi differenze) tra l'Odissea di Omero e la Eiríkssaga, andando a mostrare le radici comuni proto-indoeuropee di molte parole legate all'ambito marino e all'ambito della navigazione e identificando poi alcune tematiche che ricorrono in entrambe le opere in maniera molto simile.

In this thesis I will point out the similarities (while being aware of the great differences) between Homer's Odissey and Eiríkssaga showing the common proto-indoeuropean roots of many sea- and navigation-related words in both Ancient Greek and Old Norse lexicon and identifying some common themes in both the literary works which occur in a strikingly similar fashion.
