Abstract

Questa tesi ha come obiettivo principale quello di esplorare e analizzare l’impatto vocale nei podcast e in altri contesti mediatici. In particolare, gli obiettivi specifici sono: analizzare le caratteristiche della voce umana, guardandone l’anatomia e la fisiologia per comprendere come viene prodotta, ed esaminando gli aspetti psicoacustici della voce e di come trasmettono un messaggio vocale. Esplorare l’importanza della voce nei podcast, descrivendone la storia e l’evoluzione per contestualizzare il loro sviluppo e analizzando il ruolo della voce nei podcast, focalizzandosi su tecniche di narrazione, tonalità e intonazione. Confrontare l’uso della voce nei podcast con altri contesti mediatici, come per la voce nel canto e nelle radio. Esaminare gli aspetti tecnici della produzione vocale nei podcast, descrivendo le attrezzature e i software utilizzati per la registrazione, analizzando le tecniche di editing e post-produzione. Valutare gli effetti psicologici e persuasivi della voce, studiando la psicologia della percezione vocale e il suo impatto sugli ascoltatori. Identificare i futuri sviluppi e le tendenze nel campo dei podcast, inclusa l’intelligenza artificiale, e considerando come la sintesi vocale e altre tecnologie emergenti possono influenzare il futuro dei podcast. Attraverso l’analisi di questi punti, la tesi si propone di fornire una visione approfondita e multidisciplinare sull’importanza dell’impatto della voce nei podcast, contribuendo così a comprendere le dinamiche di un mezzo di comunicazione in continua evoluzione.

The main objective of this thesis is to explore and analyse the vocal impact in podcasts and other media contexts. Specific objectives are to analyse the characteristics of the human voice, looking at its anatomy and physiology to understand how it is produced, and examining the psychoacoustic aspects of the voice and how they convey a vocal message. Explore the importance of voice in podcasts, describing their history and evolution to contextualise their development and analysing the role of voice in podcasts, focusing on storytelling techniques, pitch and intonation. Compare the use of voice in podcasts with other media contexts, such as voice in singing and radio. Examine the technical aspects of voice production in podcasts, describing the equipment and software used for recording, analysing editing and post-production techniques. Assess the psychological and persuasive effects of voice, studying the psychology of voice perception and its impact on listeners. Identify future developments and trends in the field of podcasts, including artificial intelligence, and considering how speech synthesis and other emerging technologies may influence the future of podcasts. Through the analysis of these points, the thesis aims to provide an in-depth and multidisciplinary insight into the importance of the impact of voice in podcasts, thus contributing to an understanding of the dynamics of an evolving medium.
