"Educazione sessuale e all'affettività nella scuola primaria: la situazione delle scuole del nostro territorio e l'esempio dell'associazione Edusex."

Abstract

L’obiettivo della tesi è quello di analizzare la situazione relativa all’insegnamento dell’educazione sessuale e all’affettività nelle scuole primarie del comune di Genova, al fine di verificarne la sensibilità all’argomento, esaminando le modalità con cui viene eseguita, in quali classi viene proposta, la durata e l’efficacia dei progetti, nonché i relativi riscontri positivi o negativi ricevuti; sono stati quindi predisposti due questionari, uno somministrato ai dirigenti delle scuole primarie del comune di Genova e l’altro somministrato agli insegnanti che ivi operano. È stata inoltre presa d’esempio l’associazione Edusex, evidenziandone l’impegno e il ruolo nel promuovere l’educazione sessuale e all’affettività all’interno delle scuole primarie del territorio genovese, osservandone il loro metodo di lavoro durante degli incontri laboratoriali svolti in una classe quinta. Nel primo questionario, la maggior parte dei dirigenti che ha risposto, ha dichiarato di effettuare l’educazione sessuale e all’affettività nei plessi che dirigono; le attività vengono svolte prevalentemente da personale esterno alla scuola. Quest’ultimo dato rispecchia quanto emerso nel questionario compilato dalle insegnanti che hanno dichiarato di non svolgere in prima persona attività riguardanti l’educazione sessuale e all’affettività e preferirebbero ricevere maggiore formazione sull’argomento; inoltre, durante la loro carriera hanno affrontato situazioni che hanno fatto pensare loro che sia necessario svolgere educazione sessuale e all’affettività. In conclusione, in assenza di linee di indirizzo condivise da seguire, ciascun Istituto Comprensivo decide autonomamente se e come affrontare l’argomento. In considerazione anche del particolare momento storico in cui viviamo (incremento di femminicidi, di aggressioni omofobe, crescenti fenomeni di bullismo e cyberbullismo) educare i bambini e le bambine alla tematica risulta più che mai fondamentale e non più rimandabile.

The objective of the thesis is to analyse the situation relating to the teaching of sexual and affective education in primary schools in the municipality of Genoa, in order to verify its sensitivity to the topic, examining the ways in which it is carried out, in which classes are proposed, the duration and effectiveness of the projects, as well as the related positive or negative feedback received; Two questionnaires were therefore prepared, one administered to the heads of primary schools in the municipality of Genoa and the other administered to the teachers who work there. The Edusex association was also taken as an example, highlighting its commitment and role in promoting sexual and affective education within primary schools in the Genoa area, observing their working method during workshop meetings held in a fifth grade class. In the first questionnaire, the majority of school heads who responded stated that they carry out sexual and emotional education in the schools they manage; the activities are mainly carried out by staff external to the school. This last data reflects what emerged in the questionnaire filled out by the teachers who declared that they do not personally carry out activities relating to sexual and emotional education and would prefer to receive more training on the topic; furthermore, during their career they have faced situations that have made them think that it is necessary to carry out sexual and affective education. In conclusion, in the absence of shared guidelines to follow, each Comprehensive Institute decides independently whether and how to address the topic. Also considering the particular historical moment in which we live (increase in feminicides, homophobic attacks, growing phenomena of bullying and cyberbullying), educating boys and girls on the issue is more fundamental than ever and can no longer be put off.
