TESI DI RICERCA La cura dei legami nell’affido familiare:una ricerca qualitativa sulle esperienze dei Care Leavers

Abstract

La tesi tratta il tema dell'affido familiare focalizzandosi in particolare sulle esperienze dei "care leavers", giovani che hanno vissuto periodi significativi della loro gioventù in affido e che si trovano ad affrontare la transizione verso l'indipendenza senza il supporto continuo della famiglia biologica. Il lavoro esplora il contesto normativo e pratico dell’affido familiare attraverso una ricerca che è mira a dare voce diretta ai care leavers stessi. Verranno analizzate le strategie e le pratiche che favoriscono un legame sano tra i minori e le loro famiglie d’origine

Il lavoro si articola in vari capitoli: il primo offre un quadro teorico sul gruppo dei care leavers, esplorando le principali difficoltà durante la transizione verso l'età adulta e il ruolo essenziale dei servizi sociali nel loro sostegno. Viene posta un'attenzione particolare sui legami familiari, specialmente nei casi di affidi permanenti che non consentono il ritorno alla famiglia d'origine. Il secondo capitolo descrive la metodologia di ricerca utilizzata per raccogliere le testimonianze dei care leavers, inclusi approfondimenti sulle aree tematiche esaminate e le storie personali raccolte. Nel terzo capitolo, il focus si sposta sulle riflessioni emerse dall'analisi delle storie dei care leavers, mettendo in luce i punti di forza e le criticità comuni riscontrate. Questa sezione fornisce uno spazio per esaminare le esperienze personali nel volontariato e nel lavoro sociale, collegando queste riflessioni alla proposta di miglioramenti concreti nelle politiche di supporto ai care leavers.

The thesis deals with the theme of foster care, focusing in particular on the experiences of "care leavers", young people who have spent significant periods of their youth in foster care and who are facing the transition to independence without the continuous support of their biological family. The work explores the regulatory and practical context of foster care through research that aims to give a direct voice to the care leavers themselves. The strategies and practices that foster a healthy bond between minors and their families of origin will be analysed.

The work is divided into various chapters: the first offers a theoretical framework on the group of care leavers, exploring the main difficulties during the transition to adulthood and the essential role of social services in supporting them. Particular attention is paid to family ties, especially in cases of permanent foster care that does not allow the return to the family of origin. The second chapter describes the research methodology used to collect the testimonies of care leavers, including insights into the thematic areas examined and the personal stories collected. In the third chapter, the focus shifts to the reflections that emerged from the analysis of the stories of care leavers, highlighting the common strengths and critical points found. This section provides a space to examine personal experiences in volunteering and social work, linking these reflections to the proposal for concrete improvements in policies to support care leavers.
