Il mercato del lavoro in Italia: dal 1945 a oggi

Abstract

La seguente tesi si basa sul mercato del lavoro in Italia dal 1945 fino ad oggi, osservando e analizzando la sua composizione durante i decenni, le sue caratteristiche principali, come queste si sono modificate e i settori principali dell’occupazione. Per farlo sono state usate pubblicazioni di autori che hanno evidenziato le tipicità e le novità dell’argomento e i dati dell’ISTAT, avendo così una visione completa e ben definita di quello che era, che è stato e che sarà il mercato del lavoro. Il primo capitolo riguarda l’economia italiana e i suoi cambiamenti nel tempo. È stata posta attenzione anche su una realtà tipica del tessuto economico e produttivo italiano: il distretto industriale e le piccole e medie imprese. Il secondo capitolo si occupa del fattore lavoro, analizzando il livello di istruzione della popolazione, il divario tra Nord e Sud Italia e l’occupazione femminile. Il terzo capitolo tratta la disoccupazione e il quarto i nuovi scenari, i cambiamenti che stanno apportando le nuove tecnologie al mondo del lavoro e come questo si sia modificato col Covid-19. Infine, nel quinto capitolo sono stati osservati dati più recenti che possano far capire l'odierna situazione del mercato del lavoro. La curiosità mi ha portata a chiedermi come si è modificato nel tempo il contesto economico italiano, poiché ciò ha delle ripercussioni sul mercato del lavoro, quali erano e quali sono oggi i settori trainanti e quali assorbono più forza lavoro. Qual era e qual è il livello di istruzione? Una buona istruzione eleva le qualità dei lavoratori e favorisce sviluppo e innovazione. La differenza tra Nord e Sud Italia c'è sempre stata o è cambiata rispetto al passato? E l’occupazione femminile? Anche la disoccupazione è un tema caldo: come si è modificata? Lo sviluppo di nuove tecnologie ci sta portando verso nuovi scenari: quali? Qual è l’attuale situazione del mercato del lavoro? Tutte domande a cui ho cercato di dare risposte nell'elaborato.

The following thesis is based on the labor market in Italy from 1945 until today, observing and analyzing its composition over the decades, its main characteristics, how these have changed and the main sectors of employment. To do this, publications by authors who highlighted the typical and new features of the topic and ISTAT data were used, thus having a complete and well-defined vision of what the labor market was, has been and will be. The first chapter concerns the Italian economy and its changes over time. Attention was also paid to a typical reality of the Italian economic and productive fabric: the industrial district and small and medium-sized enterprises. The second chapter deals with the labor factor, analyzing the population's level of education, the gap between Northern and Southern Italy and female employment. The third chapter deals with unemployment and the fourth with new scenarios, the changes that new technologies are bringing to the world of work and how this has changed with Covid-19. Finally, in the fifth chapter more recent data were observed that can help understand the current situation of the labor market. Curiosity led me to ask myself how the Italian economic context has changed over time, since this has repercussions on the job market, which were and are today the leading sectors and which absorb the most workforce. What was and what is the level of education? A good education raises the qualities of workers and promotes development and innovation. Has the difference between Northern and Southern Italy always been there or has it changed compared to the past? And female employment? Unemployment is also a hot topic: how has it changed? The development of new technologies is leading us towards new scenarios: which ones? What is the current situation on the labor market? All questions to which I tried to give answers in the essay.
