Vocalismo e consonantismo dello svedese di Finlandia.

Abstract

Questo lavoro si pone l’obbiettivo di fornire un inventario del sistema dei fonemi vocalici e consonantici della varietà standard dello Svedese di Finlandia e dei loro principali allofoni. Allo scopo di questa ricerca sono state analizzate le tracce audio di 40 parlanti madrelingua della regione del Nyland, le quali sono state analizzate acusticamente tramite il programma Praat. L’introduzione spiega in dettaglio la metodologia seguita al fine di procedere nella ricerca e fa brevemente riferimento allo sfondo socioculturale della lingua e alle sue principali caratteristiche distintive riportate in letteratura scientifica. Nel terzo capitolo vengono mostrati i risultati dell’analisi acustica condotta per identificare i fonemi vocalici e i loro principali allofoni, con particolare attenzione allo status degli allofoni vocalici nelle sequenze <är(r)> and <ör(r)>. Nel quarto capitolo discutiamo i risultati dell’analisi acustica delle consonanti, grazie al quale è stato reso possibile inventariare i fonemi consonantici e i loro principali allofoni. Particolare attenzione è stata riservata al comportamento del sandhi e all’osservazione del comportamento dei nessi <rn>, <rt>, <rd>, <rs>, e <rl>. Per concludere, forniamo i quadrilateri delle vocali fonemiche e dei loro allofoni posizionali e le tavole delle consonanti fonemiche coi corrispettivi allofoni.

This work is aimed to give an inventory of the system of vowel and consonant phonemes of the standard variety of Finnish Swedish and of their main allophones. For the purpose of this research, the audio tracks of 40 native speakers from the Nyland area were recorded, which were then acoustically analysed using the software Praat. The introduction explains in detail the methodology followed in order to carry out the research and briefly mentions the socio-cultural background of the language and its main distinctive characteristics found in the scientific literature. In the third chapter we show the results of the acoustic analysis carried out to identify the vowel phonemes and their main allophones, with special attention to the status of the vowel allophones in the sequences <är(r)> and <ör(r)>. In the fourth chapter we discuss the results of the acoustic analysis of the consonants, thanks to which inventorying the consonant phonemes and their main allophones has been made possible. Particular attention has been dedicated to the behaviour of the sandhi and to the observation of the behaviour of the clusters <rn>, <rt>, <rd>, <rs>, and <rl>. Finally, we provide the quadrilaterals of the phonemic vowels and their positional allophones and the tables of the phonemic consonants with their corresponding allophones.
