Il dominio della biodiversità marina: analisi terminologica comparata.

Abstract

Questo elaborato è un approfondimento dell’analisi terminologica comparata che ho svolto all’interno del dominio della biodiversità marina, nell’ambito della Convenzione delle Nazioni Unite sul diritto del mare. Dopo un confronto tra terminologia e nomenclatura, con alcuni cenni storici, spiegherò come mi sono avvicinata al lavoro terminologico durante il mio percorso accademico. Successivamente presenterò la fase preparatoria, introducendo le fonti del glossario e ripercorrendo le tappe dell’estrazione automatica eseguita tramite Sketch Engine. Descriverò quindi la fase principale del lavoro, che comprende la selezione dei termini candidati e la schedatura, entrando nel dettaglio per quanto riguarda i campi della scheda terminologica. Infine, mi soffermerò sui “casi speciali” che hanno portato a interessanti spunti di riflessione nel corso della mia analisi.

This dissertation is an in-depth comparative terminology analysis that I carried out within the domain of marine biodiversity, in the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. After a comparison of terminology and nomenclature, with some historical background, I will explain how I approached terminological work during my academic studies. Next, I will present the preparatory phase, introducing the sources of the glossary and retracing the stages of the automatic extraction performed using Sketch Engine. I will then describe the main phase of the work, which includes the selection of candidate terms and the filing, going into detail regarding the fields of the terminology sheet. Finally, I will dwell on the "special cases" that led to interesting insights in the course of my analysis.
