Ernestina de Champourcin: la poesia mistica di un'esiliata spagnola

Abstract

La seguente analisi si prefissa di presentare la vita e le opere di Ernestina de Champourcin, famosa scrittrice appartenente alla Generazione del ’27. Ella mostra un carattere poliedrico in cui le esperienze di vita si intersecano con le conoscenze letterarie creando uno stile ricercato e sempre nuovo, nonostante gli influssi di rinomati autori del passato, tra cui San Juan de la Cruz e Juan Ramón Jiménez. Oltre alla sua fama come poetessa, Ernestina si ricorda anche per il suo lavoro di traduzione; infatti, grazie alla sua educazione poliglotta, ha tradotto trentasei libri. La forza di questa donna è da ricercare nella sua capacità di adattamento alle diverse situazioni che la vita le presenta: l’esilio in Messico, la morte del suo amato marito Juan José Domenchina, il ritorno in patria dopo trentatré anni vissuti come esule e il tentativo di ritrovare il suo posto in una Madrid completamente diversa da quella lasciata nel 1936. Una delle caratteristiche della poesia della scrittrice basca è la costante della figura di Dio, presente sin dalle sue prime opere e protagonista indiscussa del periodo denominato dell’“amor divino”. La ricerca continua della conoscenza dell’Altissimo conferisce alle sue poesie un carattere mistico, in cui Dio è amore, rifugio e fine ultimo della vita.

In this analysis we present life and works of Ernestina de Champourcin, writer of the Generation of '27. She shows a multifaceted character in which life experiences intertwine with literature knowledge to create a refined and new style, despite the influence of renowned authors of the past such as San Juan de la Cruz and Juan Ramón Jiménez. Beyond her fame as a poet, Champourcin is also known thanks to her translation job. In fact, she has translated thirty-six books. We find the power of this woman in her ability to adapt to all the situations that she has to face during her life: the exile in Mexico, the death of her loving husband Juan José Domenchina, the return to Spain after being exiled for thirty-three years, and the attempt to find herself in a different Madrid. One of the characteristics of the Basque writer’s poetry is the constant of the figure of God, who has been present since her first works and who is the main character of the period named “amor divino”. The unstoppable research of the knowledge of Supreme Being grants her books a mystical sense in which God is love, shelter and life’s final goal.
