La relazione e l’influenza delle organizzazioni criminali a stampo mafioso nel terrorismo che ha interessato l’Italia, ed il mondo intero, negli anni tra il 1970 ed il 1980.

Abstract

Nel primo capitolo mi concentro sulla spiegazione letterale e sui principali cenni storici delle organizzazioni criminali a stampo mafioso italiane, spiegando come la mafia venga studiata con due approcci teorici diversi, uno socioculturale che prende in considerazione il fenomeno come atteggiamento sociale più che una vera e propria organizzazione, ed uno invece economico che sposta l’attenzione sulla dimensione imprenditoriale e che vede le organizzazioni mafiose come imprese che grazie alla violenza riescono a muoversi sul mercato e nella società`. Sono state delineate le 4 principali associazioni italiane quali Cosa Nostra, Ndrangheta, Camorra e Sacra Corona Unita, poi inquadrate nel contesto storico e sociale in cui si sono formate quindi lo studio delle origini e della storia. Sotto suggerimento del Professor Cama é stata analizzata la violenza sistematica da queste organizzazioni, al fine di avere grande influenza e portata in parecchi ambiti sociali. É stato poi definito il terrorismo politico che, in particolar modo nel caso italiano, è spesso stato associato o totalmente dissociato alla mafia dagli studiosi. Questo verrà poi ripreso nel dettaglio nel secondo capitolo, attraverso degli esempi di attentati e di come le organizzazioni mafiose hanno influenzato o addirittura partecipato a questi. É stato sottolineato come sia sbagliato il retaggio ideologico secondo cui terroristi e criminali perseguano obiettivi e vengano mossi da ideologie totalmente differenti e di come spesso invece si siano sostenuti ed influenzati vicendevolmente citando il termine recente ‘insurrezione criminale’ che tenta di spiegare come, di recente, le organizzazioni criminali siano sempre più una minaccia alla sicurezza nazionale. Il legame tra criminalità e terrorismo non punta alla fusione delle due organizzazioni, bensì pone l’accento sulle reti sociali che le collegano.

In the first chapter, I focus on the literal explanation and the main historical references of Italian mafia-type criminal organizations, explaining how the mafia is studied through two different theoretical approaches: one sociocultural, considering the phenomenon as a social attitude rather than a proper organization, and one economic, focusing on the entrepreneurial dimension and seeing mafia organizations as enterprises that, through violence, manage to operate in the market and society. The four main Italian associations, namely Cosa Nostra, Ndrangheta, Camorra, and Sacra Corona Unita, have been outlined, then framed in the historical and social context in which they formed, including the study of their origins and history. Under the suggestion of Professor Cama, systematic violence by these organizations has been analyzed, aiming to have a significant influence and impact on various social spheres. Then, political terrorism has been defined, which, especially in the Italian case, has often been associated or completely dissociated from the mafia by scholars. This will be further detailed in the second chapter, through examples of attacks and how mafia organizations have influenced or even participated in them. It has been emphasized that the ideological legacy suggesting that terrorists and criminals pursue different objectives and are driven by entirely different ideologies is wrong and how they often support and influence each other, citing the recent term 'criminal insurrection' that attempts to explain how criminal organizations are increasingly a threat to national security. The link between crime and terrorism does not aim at merging the two organizations but rather emphasizes how social networks, the user base, and the context in which they operate create overlaps between the two phenomena, not to mention mutual illicit financing. The third chapter focuses on the Italian penal response to mafia.
