Il ruolo del controllo inibitorio nelle prime fasi di apprendimento della lingua scritta

Abstract

Questa tesi tratta della relazione tra funzioni esecutive e capacità di scrittura. Imparare a scrivere richiede molteplici capacità (abilità cognitive, motorie, motivazionali). Tra le capacità cognitive, la letteratura indica come rilevanti le funzioni esecutive. Tuttavia, ancora non è chiaro come diverse capacità esecutive entrino in gioco nelle prime fasi di apprendimento. Questa tesi si compone di tre capitoli. Il primo capitolo introduce il costrutto delle funzioni esecutive, mentre il secondo capitolo è dedicato al processo di scrittura. Infine, il terzo capitolo riporta una ricerca il cui obiettivo indagare il ruolo della capacità inibitoria (una funzione esecutiva) rispetto alle capacità di scrittura emergenti in un campione di bambini e bambine di prima primaria.

This thesis deals with the relationship between executive functions and writing skills. Learning to write requires multiple skills (cognitive, motor, motivational skills). Among cognitive skills, the literature points to executive functions as relevant. However, it is still unclear how different executive abilities come into play in the early stages of learning. This thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter introduces the construct of executive functions, while the second chapter is devoted to the writing process. Finally, the third chapter reports on research whose aim is to investigate the role of inhibitory ability (an executive function) with respect to emergent writing skills in a sample of early primary school boys and girls.
