Il fenomeno delle statue-stele lunigianesi: quadro storico e nuovi contributi.

Abstract

Chiunque abbia visitato la Lunigiana o abbia sfogliato le pagine di qualche libro che ne parli non può non essersi imbattuto nell’immagine, stilizzata o reale, di una statua stele. Tale fenomeno, espressione dell’antica cultura eneolitica di cui le popolazioni che abitavano questi luoghi nel IV-III millennio a.C. erano portatrici, è a tal punto entrato nella memoria collettiva e nell’immaginario lunigianesi da diventarne un simbolo. Certamente tanto vi è ancora da dire, sia sul contesto storico in cui vennero alla luce (pochi, infatti, sono i reperti noti di questi popoli) sia soprattutto sul loro significato; moltissime, inoltre, sono senz’altro le stele che anora giacciono sotto terra in attesa di essere ritrovate. In questo elaborato, mi propongo di fare una sintesi di quanto detto e scoperto fino ad ora, nel tentativo, anche alla luce degli ultimi rinvenimenti, di fornire nuovi spunti di ricerca per trovare finalmente risposta a tutti quei quesiti che ancora lasciano questi affascinanti monumenti avvolti nel mistero.

Anyone who has visited Lunigiana or has leafed through the pages of any book that talks about it cannot fail to have come across the image, stylized or real, of a stele statue. This phenomenon, an expression of the ancient Eneolithic culture of which the populations who inhabited these places in the 4th-3rd millennium BC. they were bearers, it has entered the collective memory and imagination of Lunigiana to such an extent that it has become a symbol. There is certainly still much to be said, both about the historical context in which they came to light (in fact, there are few known discoveries from these populations) and above all on their meaning; Furthermore, there are certainly many steles that still lie underground waiting to be found. In this paper, I aim to make a synthesis of what has been said and discovered so far, in an attempt, also in light of the latest discoveries, to provide new research ideas to finally find answers to all those questions that still leave these fascinating monuments shrouded in mystery.
