Le funzioni esecutive e la memoria di lavoro: una ricerca con bambini di età prescolare

Abstract

In questa tesi si è voluto analizzare la relazione tra la memoria di lavoro e le Funzioni Esecutive. Nel primo capitolo si presenta il costrutto della memoria di lavoro e i diversi modelli teorici che negli anni sono stati ideati per spiegarne il funzionamento. Nel secondo capitolo si analizza il costrutto delle Funzioni Esecutive (FE) e alcuni, dei molteplici, modelli teorici che fino ad oggi hanno cercato di spiegare questo costrutto. Il terzo capitolo presenta una ricerca svolta con bambini in età prescolare con l’obiettivo di studiare la relazione tra la memoria di lavoro e una specifica funzione esecutiva ovvero la capacità di aggiornare in memoria le informazioni durante un’attività (updating). In quanto in età adulta possiamo pensare a due aspetti differenti quando si parla di memoria e della capacità di aggiornare le informazioni in memoria, al contrario, nei bambini di età prescolare non è ben chiaro se questi processi si possano pensare in maniera distinta.

In this thesis we wanted to analyse the relationship between working memory and Executive Functions. The first chapter presents the construct of working memory and the different theoretical models that over the years have been designed to explain how it works. The second chapter analyses the construct of the Executive Functions (FE) and some, of the multiple, theoretical models which to date have tried to explain this construct. The third chapter presents a research carried out with preschool children with the aim of studying the relationship between working memory and a specific executive function or the ability to update information in memory during an activity (updating). As in adulthood we can think of two different aspects when it comes to memory and the ability to update information in memory, on the contrary, in preschool children it is not clear whether these processes can be thought of in a distinct way.
