Il Luogo della Mente

Abstract

"The Mind's Place" è una tesi di ricerca sugli studi di psicoterapia intesi come spazi fisici e su come migliorarli utilizzando principi e conoscenze di design, in modo tale da agevolare e rendere il più confortevole possibile l'esperienza terapeutica all'utente. L'obiettivo è quello di inquadrare le criticità presenti negli ambienti già esistenti e andare a progettare uno spazio virtuale che possa includere tutte le caratteristiche fondamentali per ottenere un ambiente ideale per la psicoterapia, che possa rappresentare una sorta di linea guida alla corretta progettazione di questo tipo di studi medici. L'elaborato, suddiviso in capitoli, si propone di affrontare il progetto partendo da nozioni di base di design e psicoterapia necessarie allo sviluppo, per poi procedere con delle interviste semi-strutturate qualitative, con lo scopo di ottenere informazioni sull'esperienza diretta dei pazienti e degli operatori che usufruiscono di questi spazi. Successivamente si passa alla vera e propria progettazione dell'ambiente, andando ad integrare le informazioni ricavate durante la ricerca.

"The Mind's Place" is a research thesis on psychotherapy offices meant as physical spaces and how to improve them using design principles and knowledge to make the therapeutic experience as easy and comfortable as possible for the user. The objective is to frame the critical issues present in existing environments and go on to design a virtual space that can include all the basic features to achieve an ideal environment for psychotherapy, which can represent a kind of guideline to the proper design of this type of medical practice. The paper, divided into chapters, aims to approach the project starting with basic notions of design and psychotherapy necessary for development, and then proceeding with qualitative semi-structured interviews, with the aim of obtaining information on the direct experience of patients and practitioners who use these spaces. Subsequently, the thesis moves on to the actual design of the environment, by incorporating the information obtained during the research.
