Il settore automobilistico: la transizione dai motori a combustione interna ai veicoli elettrici

Abstract

Elettrificazione, politiche economiche, attenzione all’ambiente, batterie e molto altro sono elementi caratterizzanti questa nuova fase del mercato automobilistico. Per approcciare tale cambiamento, ho ritenuto fondamentale inquadrare l’industria automobilistica facendo dei cenni sulla sua storia e la sua nascita in Italia, la sua produzione e la filiera tecnico-produttiva con i suoi attori. Ho inoltre posto l’attenzione sui dati inerenti all’import e all’export dei suoi principali componenti per capire il contesto all’interno del quale questo fenomeno si sta sviluppando. Successivamente mi sono concentrata sulla riscoperta dei veicoli elettrici con il passaggio dal motore a combustione interna, il cambiamento di filiera e la diffusione di questi veicoli in Europa, USA e Cina. Questo elaborato evidenzia il mercato automobilistico tramite i dati di produzione, import ed export ed immatricolazioni con uno sviluppo sia temporale che spaziale: dal ‘900 ai giorni nostri seguendo lo sviluppo del settore e il progressivo ingresso di questi nuovi veicoli e con un’iniziale attenzione posta sul territorio italiano per poi estendersi geograficamente all’Europa e inevitabilmente anche a USA e Cina.

Electrification, economic policies, environmental considerations, batteries and much more are defining elements of this new phase in the automotive market. To address this change, I found essential to frame the automotive industry by providing insights into its history and origins in Italy, its production and the technical-production chain with its stakeholders. I also focused on the data related to the import and export of its main components to understand the context in which this phenomenon is developing. Subsequently, I concentrated on the rediscovery of electric vehicles with the transition from internal combustion engines, the shift in the supply chain and the dissemination of these vehicles in Europe, the USA and China. This work highlights the automotive market through production data, imports, exports and registrations, with both temporal and spatial development: from the 1900s to the present, tracking the sector's evolution and the progressive entry of these new vehicles, with an initial focus is on the Italian territory, then expanding geographically to Europe and inevitably to the USA and China.
