Analisi storico-critica degli spazi artistici indipendenti in Italia negli anni Duemila: il caso NESXT 2016 - 2019

Abstract

L’elaborato illustra la storia e la gestione delle realtà indipendenti italiane che hanno presenziato al festival NESXT, svoltosi consecutivamente per quattro edizioni nella città di Torino tra il 2016 e il 2019. L’obiettivo era comprendere il pensiero indipendente e la varietà delle sue declinazioni, spiegando cosa si intende con “dipendenza” e, conseguentemente, “indipendenza”. I gestori delle realtà sono stati intervistati per raccontare la storia, l’organizzazione e la propria opinione riguardante la locuzione di “spazi indipendenti” spesso loro attribuita, sottolineando la vivacità e la ricchezza che caratterizzano tale ambiente. Le informazioni emerse da tali colloqui hanno, inoltre, evidenziato degli aspetti peculiari come i valori fondanti e la volontà condivisa dei collettivi di produrre un’arte libera da ogni condizionamento, tema centrale anche del festival NESXT. Olga Gambari, direttrice dell’evento, e il comitato scientifico desideravano dare visibilità all’operato dei fondatori delle realtà indipendenti nazionali e internazionali, incentivando la collaborazione e creazione di un network. A precedere tali riflessioni sono state analizzate, nel primo capitolo, le realtà indipendenti createsi tra gli anni Settanta e il Duemila fornendo un prospetto il più possibile esaustivo e storico della situazione indipendente italiana. Il focus del secondo capitolo è stato il Festival NESXT e i suoi partecipanti. L’indagine, anticipata da una spiegazione generale, esamina dettagliatamente le quattro edizioni evidenziando gli obiettivi, le iniziative e i punti salienti dell’evento. Alcune delle realtà protagoniste di NESXT sono state approfondite e inserite in ordine alfabetico sotto l’anno di partecipazione. Nel terzo capitolo sono state riportate le interviste svolte a Olga Gambari e Serena Carbone, due delle organizzatrici del festival, e ai diciannove gestori delle realtà indipendenti che hanno partecipato al Festival.

The elaborate illustrates the history and management of the Italian independent realities that attended the NESXT festival, held for four consecutive editions in the city of Turin between 2016 and 2019. The goal was to understand independent thinking and the variety of its declinations, explaining what is meant by "dependence" and, consequently, "independence".The reality managers were interviewed to tell the story, the organization and their opinion about the expression of "independent spaces", often attributed to them, emphasizing the liveliness and richness that characterize this environment. The information that emerged from these talks also highlighted some peculiar aspects such as the founding values and the shared will of the collectives to produce an art free from any conditioning, central theme of the festival NESXT. Olga Gambari, director of the event, and the scientific committee wanted to give visibility to the work of the founders of independent national and international organizations, encouraging collaboration and the creation of a network. In the first chapter, these reflections were preceded by an analysis of the independent realities created between the 1970s and the 2000s, providing as exhaustive and historical perspective of the independent Italian situation. The focus of the second chapter was the NESXT Festival and its participants. The survey, preceded by a general explanation, examines in detail the four editions highlighting the objectives, initiatives and highlights of the event. Some of the protagonists of NESXT have been studied in detail and inserted in alphabetical order under the year of participation. In the third and last chapter were reported interviews with Olga Gambari and Serena Carbone, two of the organizers of the festival, and nineteen managers of the independent reality who participated in the festival.
