Es Gab einmal die Mauer (C'era una volta il muro)

Abstract

Questa tesi nasce dal mio profondo interesse per la storia tedesca, e in particolare dalla curiosità suscitata dai racconti di mio nonno sulla sua vita. Non tutti hanno la fortuna di poter ascoltare e rivivere i ricordi dei propri nonni. Per questo motivo, ho voluto creare un'esperienza che consenta di immergersi nella storia tedesca dal punto di vista di un cittadino che ha vissuto i momenti più significativi.

La storia in questa tesi non verrà narrata attraverso fatti storici, ma piuttosto attraverso oggetti che hanno la loro storia e la loro memoria legati alla mia famiglia. Pertanto, questa tesi è concepita come una guida per chiunque desideri viaggiare a Berlino e nei suoi dintorni e voglia conoscere la storia, in questo caso della Guerra Fredda, dall'interno, attraverso gli occhi di chi l'ha vissuta in prima persona.

In seguito, questa guida potrà essere trasformata in un'esperienza di viaggio simile a quelle già esistenti, in cui chiunque partecipi avrà l'opportunità di rivisitare i luoghi in cui la storia di Friedrich Wilhelm Schulz e della sua famiglia è stata scritta.

Riassumendo, si può definire questo libro come un prodotto culturale sotto forma di guida di design che porta i turisti a scoprire nuovi luoghi di Berlino attraverso oggetti iconici legati a ricordi personali. Oltre ad essere un prodotto culturale, questa guida è anche un evento differito, in quanto alla fine del libro ci sarà un QR code che porterà a una mappa interattiva, dove chiunque abbia esperienze simili potrà contribuire aggiungendo nuovi pin, così da creare una rete di luoghi e dare la possibilità di creare altre guide simili, creando così una vera e propria serie.

This thesis was born out of my deep interest in German history, and in particular the curiosity aroused by my grandfather's accounts of his life. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to listen to and relive their grandparents' memories. For this reason, I wanted to create an experience that allows you to immerse yourself in German history from the perspective of a citizen who lived through the most significant moments.

The history in this thesis will not be told through historical facts, but rather through objects that have their own history and memory related to my family. Therefore, this thesis is designed as a guide for anyone wishing to travel in and around Berlin and want to learn about history, in this case the Cold War, from the inside, through the eyes of someone who experienced it first hand.

Subsequently, this guide can be transformed into a travel experience similar to those that already exist, in which anyone taking part will have the opportunity to revisit the places where the story of Friedrich Wilhelm Schulz and his family was written.

In summary, one can define this book as a cultural product in the form of a design guide that leads tourists to discover new places in Berlin through iconic objects linked to personal memories. In addition to being a cultural product, this guide is also a deferred event, as at the end of the book there will be a QR code leading to an interactive map, where anyone with similar experiences can augment it with new Pins, thus creating a network of places and giving the opportunity to create other similar guides, thus creating a real series.
