Il concetto di Identità nei movimenti sociali.

Abstract

Lo scopo di questa tesi è quella di indagare quanto il concetto di identità, nelle sue accezioni più trasversali, giochi un ruolo rilevante all’interno della formazione, dello sviluppo e delle azioni di un gruppo sociale. Dopo un primo capitolo introduttivo riguardante l’identità in senso lato la tesi si articola in quattro capitoli. In ciascuno di essi l’analisi è centrata sui pensieri e i valori dei membri, i quali mischiano, più o meno consapevolmente, la propria identità individuale con quella collettiva, influenzandosi vicendevolmente. Il primo capitolo racconta le gesta degli Zapatisti, nel secondo si affrontano le tristi vicende della setta Aum Shinrikyo, nel terzo viene analizzato il rapporto fra Al Qaeda e gli occidentali, concludendo con il movimento più universale fra quelli citati, quello degli ambientalisti capitanati da Greta Thurnberg. Infine, grazie ad una tabella, si mettono in luce similitudini e differenze di alcuni dei principali pilastri dei movimenti sociali analizzati.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how the concept of identity, in its most transversal meanings, plays an important role in the formation, development and actions of a social group. After a first introductory chapter on identity in the broadest sense, the thesis is divided into four chapters. In each of them the analysis is centered on the thoughts and values of the members, who ,more or less consciously, mix their individual identity with the collective one. The first chapter tells the story of the Zapatistas, the second deals with the sad events of the Aum Shinrikyo sect, the third analyzes the relationship between Al Qaeda and the Westerners, concluding with the most universal movement among those mentioned, the environmentalists one, led by Greta Thurnberg. Finally, thanks to a table, similarities and differences of the main pillars of the social movements analyzed are highlighted.
