Afghanistan, tra Nazionalismo e Modernizzazione: Un'Analisi dell'Evoluzione Storica, Politica e Culturale del Paese.

Abstract

L'argomento trattato all'interno della tesi è essenzialmente l'Afghanistan. Nel primo capitolo, si ripercorre la storia del paese, partendo dalla monarchia per arrivare alla repubblica. Una costante sono sempre state le influenze straniere, le grandi potenze si sono alternate nel controllo di questa nazione. L'Afghanistan è da sempre uno stato conteso in quanto si trova in una posizione strategica. Nel secondo capitolo, ci si concentra sul ruolo dell'Afghanistan nel sistema internazionale soprattutto in seguito all'invasione sovietica, che portò alla nascita dei mujaheddin (supportati dagli Stati Uniti), e la nascita di Al Qaeda con il suo leader Osama Bin Laden. In questa seconda parte, si dà rilevanza a come i presidenti degli Stati Uniti abbiano trattato la questione terroristica in seguito all'attentato dell'11 settembre e tutto il processo che porterà alla morte di Bin Laden durante l'amministrazione Obama.

The subject of the thesis is essentially Afghanistan. The first chapter traces the history of the country, starting from the monarchy to the republic. A constant have always been foreign influences, the great powers have alternated in the control of this nation. Afghanistan has always been a disputed state because it's in a strategic position. In the second chapter, the focus is on the role of Afghanistan in the international system especially following the Soviet invasion, which led to the birth of the mujahedin (supported by the United States), and the birth of Al Qaeda with its leader Osama Bin Laden. In this second part, emphasis is placed on how the presidents of the United States dealt with the terrorist issue following the September 11 attack and the whole process leading up to the death of Bin Laden during the Obama administration.
