La Russia di Putin

Abstract

Con il seguente elaborato si è voluto analizzare la figura di Vladimir Putin in quanto capo di stato russo e le politiche da lui adottate nel guidare il paese nella nuova era post-sovietica. Nel primo capitolo si approfondisce la biografia del presidente dalla sua infanzia fino al suo insediamento al Cremlino, per cercare di capire come le sue esperienze pregresse hanno influito sulle decisioni da lui prese alla guida del paese. Sempre in questo capitolo troviamo, inoltre, le sfide che Putin si trova a dover affrontare fin dai primi giorni della sua presidenza ovvero le conseguenze della crisi economica del 1998 e la guerra in Cecenia. Il secondo capitolo analizza alcune delle scelte attuate dal presidente in politica interna. Prima di ciò si fa un breve cenno alla struttura della costituzione e si compara il regime politico che essa definisce teoricamente con quello che è effettivamente applicato nel paese. Sempre nello stesso capitolo si analizzano le scelte che Putin applica in ambito economico e si affronta, in particolare, il tema degli oligarchi prendendo in analisi alcuni casi specifici. Parlando di politica interna non si può tralasciare il tema della tutela dei diritti fondamentali. In questa parte, infatti, vengono prese in esame la libertà di stampa e quella di dissenso approfondendo due casi emblematici della loro rispettiva violazione: il caso di Anna Politkovskaja e quello di Aleksej Navalny. Nel terzo e ultimo capitolo, si prende in esame il tema della politica estera. Essendo un argomento molto ampio, si è deciso di concentrare lo studio sui rapporti che il paese ha intrattenuto e intrattiene con l’Unione Europea e con gli Stati Uniti.

With the following essay we wanted to analyze the figure of Vladimir Putin as Russian head of state and the policies he adopted in leading the country in the new post-Soviet era. The first chapter delves into the president's biography from his childhood to his inauguration in the Kremlin, to try to understand how his previous experiences influenced the decisions he made while leading the country. Also in this chapter we find the challenges that Putin has had to face since the first days of his presidency, namely the consequences of the 1998 economic crisis and the war in Chechnya. The second chapter analyzes some of the choices made by the president in domestic politics. Before this, we made a short mention of the structure of the constitution and the political regime that it defines theoretically is compared with the one that is actually applied in the country. The same chapter also analyzes the choices that Putin applies in the economic field and addresses, in particular, the issue of oligarchs by analyzing some specific cases. Speaking of internal politics, the issue of the protection of fundamental rights cannot be overlooked. In this part we examine freedom of the press and freedom of dissent by examining two emblematic cases of their respective violation: the case of Anna Politkovskaja and that of Aleksej Navalny. In the last chapter we examine the topic of foreign policy. Being a very broad topic, it was decided to concentrate the study on the relations that the country has had and continues to have with the European Union and the United States.
