Abstract

Il testo tratta della caccia alle balene e di come questa attività nel tempo si sia sempre più solidificata grazie alle continue operazioni di caccia da parte di Stati balenieri come il Giappone e le Isole Faroe. Questi Stati sono i protagonisti dei più importanti casi internazionali trattati dinnanzi alla Corte Internazionale di Giustizia: il Giappone con il caso "Whaling in the Antarctic" vs l'Australia, mentre le Isole Faroe sono responsabili del caso che vede la Danimarca, citata in giudizio dalla Sea Shepherd Netherlands per aver inviato ausili alle Faroe, consentendo loro l'attività di caccia, configurando una effettiva partecipazione nella caccia.

The text deals with whaling and how this activity has increasingly solidified over time thanks to continuous hunting operations by whaling states such as Japan and the Faroe Islands. These states are the protagonists of the most important international cases dealt with before the International Court of Justice: Japan with the case "Whaling in the Antarctic" vs Australia, while the Faroe Islands are responsible for the case that sees Denmark, sued by Sea Shepherd Netherlands for sending aids to the Faroes, allowing them to hunt, configuring an effective participation in the hunt.
