Il valore civile delle Belle Lettere di Giuseppe Parini

Abstract

Le Lezioni di Belle Lettere si pongono all’apice dell’esperienza educativa di Giuseppe Parini inscritta nel periodo delle riforme teresiane. Criticando il sistema educativo contemporaneo dimentico della sua funzione principale, formare le coscienze, Parini evidenzia l’utilità sociale che queste assumono in quanto via prioritaria per introdurre al vivere civile. Il testo mantenendo come riferimento gli appunti del professore delle prime Lezioni mette in luce come Parini riveli una sottile sensibilità che, muovendo dall’osservazione e dallo studio dell’essere umano, spiega attraverso la riflessione sensista come la ricerca del piacere sia maturata a contatto con il Bello della natura e come in assenza di questo l’uomo crei l’Arte per provare quelle emozioni e dare vita alle Belle Arti conducendole alla perfezione. In seguito l’elaborato tratta la sezione del corso più importante nella quale viene approfondita l’origine e la natura dell’Arte del Dire, mezzo attraverso il quale avviene la comunicazione delle idee e dei sentimenti tra gli uomini. La didattica braidense mostra nella pratica come attraverso la costruzione di un originale percorso letterario, storico e filosofico Parini insegnasse ai suoi allievi come i grandi autori attraverso l’Eloquenza e la Poesia conducano la persona all’utile attraverso il piacere. Il valore civile delle Belle Lettere consiste nell’educazione morale dell’uomo attraverso la diffusione dei valori trasmessi dalle Lettere che divengono strumento attivo di intervento etico e sociale. Parini riteneva responsabilità dello studioso dedito alle Lettere proporre l’adozione di un nuovo modello d’essere orientato al bene comune attraverso l’educazione alla conoscenza e lo sviluppo del pensiero critico. Le sue Lezioni legando lo sviluppo delle Arti al progresso della vita sociale si ponevano come esempio per i suoi giovani studenti nonché per la generazione successiva che lo considerò un modello come intellettuale, come artista e come uomo.

The Lessons of Belle Lettere are placed at the apex of Giuseppe Parini's educational experience inscribed in the period of the Teresian reforms. Criticizing the contemporary educational system that has forgotten its main function, which is to form consciences, Parini highlights the social utility that these assume as a priority way to introduce civilized life. Keeping the professor's notes from the first lessons as a reference, the text highlights how Parini reveals a subtle sensitivity which, starting from the observation and study of the human being, explains through sensory reflection how the search for pleasure has matured in contact with the Beauty of nature and how in the absence of this man creates Art to experience those emotions and give life to the Fine Arts leading them to perfection. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the most important section of the course in which the origin and nature of the Art of Saying is explored, a means through which the communication of ideas and feelings between men takes place. The Braid teaching practice shows how through the construction of an original literary, historical and philosophical path Parini taught his students how the great authors through Eloquence and Poetry lead the person to profit through pleasure. The civil value of the Belle Lettere consists in the moral education of man through the diffusion of the values transmitted by the Letters which become an active instrument of ethical and social intervention. Parini considered it the responsibility of the scholar dedicated to Letters to propose the adoption of a new model of being oriented towards the common good through education to knowledge and the development of critical thinking. His Lessons linking the development of the Arts to the progress of social life set themselves as an example for his young students as well as for the following generation who considered him a model as an intellectual, as an artist and as a man.
