La mediazione del conflitto come risorsa educativa nella comunità scolastica.

Abstract

Lo scopo di questo lavoro è di delineare le modalità più idonee alla gestione delle situazioni conflittuali che tanto pesano sulla didattica e sul benessere generale di coloro che vivono nella scuola. Il primo passo in questo senso è la presa di coscienza che i conflitti di per sé non rappresentano un problema e non devono essere evitati, poiché il conflitto fa parte della vita e vivere vuol dire dover interagire, essere a contatto, e quindi anche in contrapposizione, con gli altri. Riuscire a gestire un conflitto vuol dire riuscire a trasformare il confronto con gli altri in un’opportunità di crescita e quindi in una risorsa. Negli ultimi anni la modalità più indicata per governare i conflitti si è rivelata la mediazione comunitaria, una strategia che coinvolge tutto il gruppo in cui si verificano e interpella la volontà di partecipazione, di ‘sentirsi parte’ di esso. Nella scuola questo metodo può essere particolarmente efficace dal punto di vista educativo, perché rappresenta un modello di relazione costruttiva e può evitare le ripercussioni negative che le contrapposizioni, e le tensioni che ne conseguono, producono sull’apprendimento e sul clima generale con cui vengono svolte le attività scolastiche. Affrontare i conflitti è importante anche al fine di evitare che essi possano sfociare in forme violente, se non distruttive, come negli episodi di bullismo. Questi sono sempre più diffusi tra gli studenti, ragion per cui nell’ultima parte è affrontato il tema del bullismo e dei possibili interventi di prevenzione, anche alla luce delle recenti indicazioni pedagogiche e della possibilità di un approccio ‘comunitario’.

The purpose of this work is to outline the most suitable methods for managing conflict situations that weigh so much on teaching and on the general well-being of those who live in the school. The first step in this sense is the awareness that conflicts in themselves do not represent a problem and should not be avoided, since conflict is part of life and living means having to interact, be in contact, and therefore also in opposition , with the others. Being able to manage a conflict means being able to transform confrontation with others into an opportunity for growth and therefore into a resource. In recent years, the most suitable way to govern conflicts has proved to be community mediation, a strategy that involves the whole group in which the will to participate occurs and challenges it, to 'feel part' of it. In the school this method can be particularly effective from an educational point of view, because it represents a model of constructive relationship and can avoid the negative repercussions that oppositions, and the resulting tensions, produce on learning and on the general climate in which they are carried out school activities. Dealing with conflicts is also important in order to prevent them from escalating into violent, if not destructive forms, such as bullying. These are increasingly widespread among students, which is why the last part deals with the issue of bullying and possible prevention interventions, also in the light of recent pedagogical indications and the possibility of a 'community' approach.
