Il turismo culturale in Portogallo fra letteratura e sostenibilità. I casi Pessoa, Saramago e Cardoso Pires.

Abstract

Il seguente lavoro, intitolato ‘’Il turismo culturale in Portogallo fra letteratura e sostenibilità. I casi Pessoa, Saramago e Cardoso Pires’’, nasce da un interesse per la letteratura portoghese e nel particolare come essa si sia sviluppata nel contesto del turismo culturale. L’obiettivo della tesi è capire come sia mutato il concetto di turismo culturale nella letteratura portoghese attraverso il lavoro di tre autori portoghesi che con i loro testi hanno analizzato questo fenomeno nella loro nazione di appartenenza ovvero: Fernando Pessoa, José Saramago e José Cardoso Pires. La struttura della tesi comprende un primo capitolo che definisce un quadro generale sul significato del ‘turismo culturale’ e su come esso si sia sviluppato nel corso dei secoli. A partire dal XVII e XVIII secolo si ebbe la nascita del Grand Tour che portò maggior attenzione al concetto di ‘turismo culturale’. Segue una breve descrizione del turismo culturale in Italia, in Portogallo e a Lisbona. Nel secondo capitolo si ha la descrizione del libro di Pessoa: viene presentata una vera e propria guida per accompagnare il turista in giro per Lisbona mettendone in risalto il valore storico e culturale dalla quale ne fu per molti anni lontano. Il terzo capitolo, invece, tratta del libro di José Saramago ‘’Viaggio in Portogallo: storia di un viaggio che non finisce mai’’. In esso si ha un’impostazione differente sulla concezione di turismo culturale poiché per Saramago il turismo è un’esperienza basata sulle sensazioni personali di ciascun viaggiatore. Nel quarto capitolo viene trattato il libro di José Cardoso Pires: ‘’Lisbona. Libro di bordo: il viaggio ‘’attraverso’’ la città di José Cardoso Pires’’. Mette in atto un turismo alternativo basato sulla riscoperta dell’identità culturale della capitale avvicinandosi al concetto di turismo culturale consapevole; infine le conclusioni sono riassunte.

The following paper, entitled ''Cultural Tourism in Portugal between Literature and Sustainability. The Pessoa, Saramago and Cardoso Pires Cases,'' grew out of an interest in Portuguese literature and specifically how it developed in the context of cultural tourism. The objective of this thesis is to understand how the concept of cultural tourism has changed in Portuguese literature through the work of three Portuguese authors whose texts have analyzed this phenomenon in their home nation namely, Fernando Pessoa, José Saramago and José Cardoso Pires. The structure of the thesis includes an initial chapter that sets out a general framework on the meaning of 'cultural tourism' and how it has developed over the centuries. Beginning in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries came the birth of the Grand Tour, which brought more attention to the concept of 'cultural tourism.' A brief description of cultural tourism in Italy, Portugal and Lisbon follows. In the second chapter we have the description of Pessoa's book: a real guide is presented to accompany the tourist around Lisbon highlighting its historical and cultural value from which he was away from it for many years. The third chapter, however, deals with Jose Saramago's book ''Journey to Portugal: story of a journey that never ends.'' In it there is a different take on the concept of cultural tourism since for Saramago tourism is an experience based on the personal feelings of each traveler. The fourth chapter discusses José Cardoso Pires' book, ''Lisbon. Logbook: the journey ''through'' the city of José Cardoso Pires.'' It puts in place an alternative tourism based on the rediscovery of the cultural identity of the capital approaching the concept of cultural conscious tourism; finally, the conclusions are summarized.
