E OF THE STUDY-The purpose of this study is to evaluate the correlation between the APCT, the conventional Krimsky distance test, the modified Krimsky distance test and the Hirschberg distance test in patients with horizontal strabismus. METHODS-A two-arm longitudinal study was conducted on patients of the University Ophthalmology Clinic of Genoa, San Martino Policlinico Hospital. In this study, 40 patients, 22 females and 18 males with horizontal strabismus were recruited. 20 patients have esotropia and 20 exotropia. Intra-observer agreement was then analysed. A p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Correspondence between each test was then examined through Pearson's coefficient of consistency. The intraclass similarity coefficient (ICC ) was used to assess intraobserver agreement. RESULTS - Pearson's coefficient of evidence for examination of evidence between angles of deviation measured by each of the methods demonstrated that the consistency between the APCT and the modified Krimsky test is the highest for both esotropia and exotropia. The conventional Krimsky test and the modified Krimsky test underestimated the angle of deviation relative to the APCT for both esotropia and exotropia; in contrast, the Hirschberg test tends to overestimate the angle of deviation. CONCLUSIONS -From the results obtained we can conclude that there is a good level of reliability for the Hirschberg test when used to estimate esotropia and exotropia. However, among those examined, this test turns out to be the most approximate method for estimating the entity of There is, however, excellent reliability for the conventional Krimsky distance test, the modified Krimsky distance test, and the APCT used to measure esotropia and exotropia. The gold standard remains the APCT.en_UK
