The analysis carried out in this thesis is based on research and analysis of metaphorical expressions used to represent Covid-19. During the pandemic period, linguists also played a key role: studying and documenting how information was being transmitted by different social media. Indeed, since the beginning of the health emergency, the media discourse on Covid-19 has been marked by highly metaphorical language.
How are these metaphors used in media language contemporary to us? What is their impact on the general public? In this paper, an attempt will be made to answer these questions, an attempt will be made to highlight the great force that metaphors exert on public opinion by reflecting on the so-called framing effect, and finally, an attempt will also be made to analyze the difficulty of assessing the appropriateness or otherwise of a metaphorical expression.
