RILEVAMENTO E CARTOGRAFIA GEOMORFOLOGICA DELL'AREA URBANA DI SESTRI LEVANTE (città Metropolitana di Genova)

Abstract

La rappresentazione delle forme del rilievo in ambito urbano è un’attività complessa in quanto nelle città Mediterranee si registrano diverse fasi di espansione urbana, con la conseguente modifica del paesaggio naturale: dall’uso del suolo, alle forme naturali modificate fino a vere e proprie nuove forme antropiche. Lo scopo dell’elaborato di tesi magistrale è la caratterizzazione geomorfologica dell’area urbana del Comune di Sestri Levante attraverso l’identificazione, la classificazione e la rappresentazione cartografica delle forme del rilievo. Il lavoro di tesi si basa su: 1) osservazioni geomorfologiche in ambito urbano; 2) analisi della letteratura scientifica di carattere geologico, geomorfologico e idrogeologico; 3) confronto multi-temporale della cartografia storica, recente e attuale (Carta degli Stati Sardi d’inizio XIX secolo in scala 1:9.450, la gran carta degli Stati di Terraferma di metà ‘800 in scala 1: 50.000, le tavolette in scala 1:25.000 nelle edizioni 1904 e 1936 dell’Istituto Geografico Militare Italiano; 4) valutazione dell’evoluzione urbana e socio-economica di Sestri Levante; 5) analisi delle informazioni stratigrafiche derivanti da sondaggi geognostici ottenuti presso studi tecnici, uffici comunali e società dell’acqua potabile. La cartografia geomorfologica ottenuta rappresenta non solo un elaborato finalizzato a una migliore comprensione del paesaggio urbano e della sua evoluzione, utile ai fini di pianificazione territoriale e urbanistica, ma anche un possibile strumento operativo per la mitigazione del rischio geo-idrologico legato anche al progressivo incremento di elementi esposti in aree a nota pericolosità naturale.

The representation of the forms of the relief in the urban context is a complex activity since in the Mediterranean cities there are various phases of urban expansion, with the consequent modification of the natural landscape: from the use of the soil, to the modified natural forms up to actual new anthropogenic forms. The purpose of the master thesis is the geomorphological characterization of the urban area of the Municipality of Sestri Levante through the identification, classification and cartographic representation of the relief forms. The thesis work is based on: 1) geomorphological observations in urban areas; 2) analysis of geological, geomorphological and hydrogeological scientific literature; 3) multi-temporal comparison of historical, recent and current cartography (Map of the Sardinian States of the early 19th century at a scale of 1:9.450, the large map of the States of the Mainland of the mid-19th century at a scale of 1:50.000, the tablets at a scale 1:25,000 in the 1904 and 1936 editions of the Italian Military Geographical Institute 4) evaluation of the urban and socio-economic evolution of Sestri Levante; 5) analysis of stratigraphic information deriving from geognostic surveys obtained at technical studies, municipal offices and drinking water companies. The geomorphological cartography obtained represents not only an elaborate aimed at a better understanding of the urban landscape and its evolution, useful for territorial and urban planning purposes, but also a possible operational tool for the mitigation of the geo-hydrological risk also linked to the progressive increase of elements exposed in areas of known natural danger.
