Documenti epigrafici bilingui: il caso delle iscrizioni bilingui greco-latine di Delo.

Abstract

Sulla base di una serie di tracce documentarie basate su fonti letterarie ed epigrafiche si ritiene di poter individuare alcune linee di ricerca sul bilinguismo greco-latino nell’ambito della comunità multietnica dei 'negotiatores'(corsivo) dell’isola di Delo e sulla visione che gli Elleni avevano di sé stessi in relazione agli altri popoli. Si è posta particolare attenzione ad aspetti linguistico-antropologici quali: la terminologia per indicare lo ‘straniero’, l’interazione tra sistemi onomastici differenti, il fenomeno associativo e il concetto di Identità presso le civiltà antiche. Inoltre si è cercato di rimarcare come tale concetto anche presso i Greci e i Latini fosse estremamente dinamico ed aperto non solo a influssi reciproci ma anche a influenze provenienti da altri gruppi etnici.

On the basis of a series of documentary traces based on literary and epigraphic sources,this paper propose some research lines on Greek-Latin bilingualism in the context of the multi-ethnic community of the 'negotiatores'(italic) of the island of Delos and he examines some aspect of the concept that the Hellenes had of themselves in relation to other peoples. Particular attention has been paid to linguistic-anthropological aspects such as: the terminology to indicate the ‘foreigner’, the interaction between different onomastic systems, the associative phenomenon and the idea of identity in ancient civilizations. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to underline how the notion of cultural identity also in Greek and Latin civilization is extremely dynamic and open not only to reciprocal influences but also to influences from other ethnic groups.
