Un'agiografia medio-bizantina sul martire Procopio (BHG 1577d): modelli, lingua e stile.

Abstract

La tesi mette in luce come l'autore dell'agiografia sia influenzato dalle sacre scritture, ma anche dalla letteratura classica, dalle opere dei commentatori tardoantichi e dalle agiografie precedenti e coeve. Emerge inoltre che l'agiografo, nonostante scriva in un greco generalmente "corretto" e conforme all'uso classico, da un lato sia inevitabilmente influenzato da fenomeni linguistici tipici della lingua parlata, dall’altro, nell’estremo tentativo di ripristinare elementi classici che ormai non venivano più utilizzati, pecchi di ipercorrettismo.

The thesis highlights how the author of hagiography is influenced by sacred scriptures ,classical literature, the works of late antique commentators and by previous and contemporary hagiographies. The thesis also shows that the hagiographer, despite writing in a generally "correct" classic Greek, on the one hand is inevitably influenced by linguistic phenomena typical of the spoken language, and on the other, in the extreme attempt to restore obsolete classical elements, falls in hypercorrectism.
