ITINERARIO ATTRAVERSO LA CULTURA MATERIALE DELL'IMPERIESE

Abstract

Questo lavoro parte da un rapido e breve excursus sui ritrovamenti preistorici della provincia

di Imperia, per delineare cronologicamente l'antichità di frequentazione delle zone ponentine,

e per arrivare ad una etnogenesi di una popolazione che è rimasta chiusa nella propria realtà e

nelle proprie tradizioni tenendole in vita nel tempo attraverso una cultura materiale della

pietra, che ha creato manufatti che sono tuttora presenti e visibili lungo tutto il territorio della

provincia.

Come queste creazioni in pietra scolpiscano il paesaggio lo rendano unico e caratteristico e

trasformino intere vallate e paesi in un bene culturale e paesaggistico da tutelare.

This work starts with a quick and brief excursus on the prehistoric finds in the province of

Imperia, to chronologically outline the antiquity of the Ponentine areas, and is continued by

the ethnogenesis of a population that has remained closed in its own reality and traditions by

keeping them alive over time through a material culture of stone, which has created artefacts,

that are still present and visible throughout the province.

How these stone creations sculpt the landscape make it unique and characteristic and

transform entire valley into a cultural and rural asset to be protected.
