Storia dell'immigrazione straniera in Italia e sua rappresentazione negli articoli del "Corriere della Sera" (1975-1990)

Abstract

Lo studio ricostruisce la storia dell’immigrazione straniera in Italia dalle sue origini fino all’emanazione della legge Martelli, che rappresenta una data periodizzante, perché è il primo tentativo di intervento strutturato e organico in materia di immigrazione. Una prima parte riporta la quantificazione del fenomeno, la gestione politica della presenza degli stranieri, il problema dei reati degli immigrati, il razzismo nascente nella società italiana. Nella seconda parte è presente l’analisi dei quasi 600 articoli apparsi sul “Corriere della Sera” tra il 1975 e il 1990. Anche in questo caso la materia è stata organizzata in filoni tematici, la condizione degli immigrati, l’atteggiamento della popolazione italiana nei loro confronti, gli episodi di ostilità e razzismo, ma anche le spinte all’integrazione. Una attenzione particolare è dedicata all’atteggiamento che il quotidiano ha nei confronti del tema trattato.

The study reconstructs the history of foreign immigration in Italy from its origins to the enactment of the 43/1990 law, which represents a periodic date, because it is the first attempt at structured and organic intervention in the field of immigration. A first part reports the quantification of the phenomenon, the political management of the presence of foreigners, the problem of immigrant crimes, the nascent racism in Italian society. In the second part there is an analysis of almost 600 articles that appeared in the newspaper "Corriere della Sera" between 1975 and 1990. Also in this case the subject was organized into thematic strands, the condition of immigrants, the attitude of the Italian population against them, the episodes of hostility and racism, but also the push for integration. Particular attention is paid to the attitude that the newspaper has towards the subject dealt with.
