Abstract

La chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Maria delle Grazie a Verzi: il patrimonio archivistico e artistico. La scelta di considerare una ricostruzione archivistica e storico artistica, relativa specificatamente al patrimonio pittorico, della chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Maria delle Grazie di Verzi nasce dal lavoro di tirocinio svolto presso l'Archivio diocesano di Albenga-Imperia. L'attività di schedatura cartacea del fondo parrocchiale ha restituito ai registri e ai documenti una nuova vita, e la possibilità di consegnare alla memoria contemporanea ricordi legati alla fede e alla devozione collettiva. Nonostante il fondo archivistico verzino non sia esiguo, le notizie relative all'amministrazione della chiesa parrocchiale, e alla conseguente contabilità, risultano rare e scarne. Per questo motivo, dopo una prima analisi di documenti contenenti notizie storico artistiche, il patrimonio pittorico conservato nella chiesa è stato considerato attraverso il confronto con i maggiori protagonisti della scena pittorica genovese tra il Cinquecento e lafine del Settecento, con lo scopo di rintracciare un ambito produttivo.

The decision to consider an archival and historical-artistic reconstruction of the parish church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Verzi, relating specifically to its pictorial heritage, stems from the work of an internship at the Diocesan Archive of Albenga-Imperia. The activity of filing the parish fund on paper has given new life to the registers and documents, and the possibility of consigning memories linked to faith and collective devotion to contemporary memory. Although the Verzino archival fund is not small, information on the administration of the parish church and the resulting accounts are rare and scarce. For this reason, after an initial analysis of the documents containing historical and artistic information, it was considered the pictorial heritage preserved in the church, by comparing it with the major protagonists of the Genoese painting scene between the 16th and the end of the 18th century, with the aim of tracing a production area.
