Rapporti di genere nei documenti genovesi nei secoli XII e XIII

Abstract

Il seguente elaborato tratta dei rapporti di genere nei documenti genovesi nel periodo di tempo tra il secolo XII e il secolo XIII, con particolare riguardo al numero delle donne presenti nei documenti e allo spazio di manovra che esse avevano. Ricorre ad un grande lavoro di schedatura di un numero circoscritto di notai ricercando le donne reperibili nei registri notarili e a uno studio di norme e consuetudini della vita dell'epoca.

This thesis examines the gender relations in Genoese notarial records from the beginning of twelfth to the end of thirteenth century. lt is also about how many women were in the documents and how free they were to trade and handle their money without their husbands or other members of their family to guide their decisions, using the wide number of notarial documents that is present for that period of time and a series of norms and customs about women.
