Ecobnb: una proposta di turismo sostenibile. Analisi dell'offerta turistica.

Abstract

L’Italia risulta il quinto Paese al mondo per arrivi turistici internazionali (2019). Un aumento così importante dei flussi turistici comporta maggiori responsabilità da parte delle imprese turistiche nel garantire una gestione finalizzata a minimizzare quanto più possibile gli effetti collaterali del turismo, tra cui inquinamento, emissioni di gas serra ed eccessiva concentrazione di turisti. Questa tesi si concentra sull’analisi dell’offerta ricettiva del sito web “Ecobnb”. Ecobnb è una piattaforma nata con l’intento di promuovere il turismo sostenibile, che abbia il minor impatto ambientale possibile. Sul sito è possibile trovare alloggi ecologici, come bio hotel, alberghi diffusi, camping, glamping e agriturismi. Il sito ha sviluppato dieci requisiti riconosciuti a livello internazionale dai marchi ambientali. Le strutture ricettive devono possedere almeno cinque dei dieci criteri per poter registrarsi al sito. L’offerta turistica di Ecobnb è stata analizzata in base alla tipologia di struttura ricettiva, alla distribuzione macroregionale e regionale. E' stata, inoltre, analizzata la distribuzione di alcune delle eco caratteristiche più rilevanti presenti sul sito ed è stata effettuata una comparazione tra i criteri di sostenibilità presentati da Ecobnb e quelli forniti dalle tre eco certificazioni più diffuse sul portale – Legambiente Turismo, ICEA and Ecolabel Turismo. Infine, sono riportati i risultati di un questionario somministrato ad un campione di operatori turistici, con lo scopo di reperire informazioni sul tipo di servizio sostenibile offerto, oltre ad informazioni relative alla domanda di turismo sostenibile presso le stesse.

By attracting millions of tourists every year, Italy is the fifth country in the world in terms of international tourist arrivals (2019). With such growth comes more responsibility in ensuring effective destination management that minimizes any adverse effects of tourism such as pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, extreme concentration of tourists and more. This thesis focuses on the analysis of the tourism supply of the website “Ecobnb”. Ecobnb is a platform that promotes sustainable tourism with low environmental impact, on which tourists can find eco-friendly accommodations, including organic hotels, alberghi diffusi, campings, glampings and farmhouse restaurants. It has developed ten environmental requirements recognized internationally by ecolabels and ecotourism certifications. Accommodation establishments must meet at least five of them in order to be included in their website’s list of low impact facilities. Ecobnb’s supply was analysed by type of tourist accommodation, macro-region and region. Besides, the most relevant criteria about environmental sustainability were also analysed to assess the number of tourist accommodation establishments in possession of the highest sustainability standards and where they are located in Italy. Since the platform features a section devoted to facilities that have additionally acquired specific environmental certifications, the general sustainability criteria mentioned on Ecobnb were compared to the ones of the three main international eco certifications listed on the website – Legambiente Turismo, ICEA and Ecolabel Turismo. Furthermore, a questionnaire consisting of three sets of questions was sent to a sample of operators of tourist accommodation facilities with the purpose of gathering data on their sustainable tourism supply and, more importantly, on demand in those facilities.
