| it_IT |
dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study was to evaluate in young physically active university students the acute cardiorespiratory and metabolic responses to three different SI-HIIT protocols (10-10, 15-15 and 20-20), to provide coaches, athletes, and practitioners useful information to choose between different SI-HIIT regimes, according to the expected training-induced adaptations and the individual profile. In particular, we studied the effects of different working interval durations, with fixed work/relief ratio, and similar work and relief interval intensity (120% and 40%, respectively, of the maximal aerobic speed (MAS)) on systemic VO2 responses, including time spent above 90% VO2max, heart rate (HR), blood lactate and the rating of perceived exertion, the latter as a measure of the physiological, biomechanical and psychological stress/fatigue imposed on the subjects during the training protocols. | en_UK |
